Photoshop Online Resource Guide FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions about this Site

Updated 01/07/2004 10:45 AM PST

Q: What is a FAQ?

A: Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why is this guide all text, no pictures, so plain?

Q: What is the Purpose of this guide?

Q: Where is this guide going in the future?

Q: How often is this guide updated?

A: Every day.

Q: This site is overwhelming. How do I navigate and find what I am looking for?

Q: How do I get an Answer to a specific question I have?

Q: I found a bad / dead / misguided link. How do I get this corrected?

A: e-mail me at xl1ken@earthlink.net with specifics and I will try to correct this for you.

Q: Will there be other areas covered besides Photoshop?

A: Immediate other areas are: General Photography and Digital Photography. I am considering a Digital Camera section as well as a Printer section in the future.

Q: Does this guide contain ads?

Q: I do not speak English and feel much more comfortable in my own language. Is there any way to view this site (or any site) in my own language?

A: Yes, consider using Google's Language tools. Not sure how accurate this is but is likely better than nothing. Also it appears that one can translate from virtually any major language to any other language.

Q: I Can't find what I am looking for. How can I easily find it?

A: The best way I know is to use the new Google feature called Google Suggest. If you are looking for Photoshop related info always prefix your search with Photoshop. Forinstance you could type in Photoshop curve. The more you type the less suggestions Google Suggest makes. Really quite neat and intuitive.

Here is the site:

Q: Why a Photoshop Online Resource Guide?

Q: What is the scope of PORG?

Q: What is the Anticipated Scope of PORG?

Q: Why is the guide so large?

Q: How do I navigate such a large site?

A: For now use the Navigation guides at the top and bottom of each page.

Q: I am a beginner with Photoshop, where do I begin?

A: I would suggest 2 current sections:

Photoshop and Digital Photography Basics

A comprehensive listing of Photoshop tips, tricks, tutorials, plug-ins, actions, workflow and more mostly culled from DPReview's Retouching Forum. The emphasis of this site is on retouching. I am now expanding the list to include basic Digital Photography info as well as specific categories of Digital Photography such as Nature, Landscape and portrait photography. Most but not all of this info is free. This list will be continually updated for the next few months. It will be indexed by subject and finely honed but will remain a simple site of links to easily navigate (hopefully). Your additions, suggestions and help openly solicited. Please advise of any bad or improper links.

I want to thank the many wonderful contributors on the Retouching Forum and others that contributed to the existence of this index. I have contributed little except to compile these links to some really wonderful Photoshop info.

Thanks to all who contributed to make this guide possible
